It's only about time
Each second of my day is controlled by the time and sometimes by the blame of the White rabbit of Alice in Wonderland... I don' t know why he came in my history and he harasses me with his "it's late!
It's late!". I'm a punctual person, friend of unforeseens, skilled agenda writer and also a watch collector, a serial planner. If the rabbit sometimes harasses me a reason exists... like that friday at
the end of june few time ago.
That day I didn't hear the alarm clock, none of the three carefully set!
It was about nine am and the day got a bad start, I saw showing up a couple of ears but I looked the other way, turning inside my sheets and continuing a bizarre dream. It was about the eleven 'o clock when confused I peeked the hands, and I snap standing and while white rabbit's anxiety was rising I immediately decided how to save time, no healty run but a lot of cookies and a litre of coffee to set the incoming
mails, to finish the last drawings of the week to deliver the project on time.
Everything seemed under control and I kept on planning a relaxing afternoon between art and friends, appointment at 16.30pm at the garden building of Modena Civic Gallery for the exhibition "Image in movement", exhibition of the artist Gianluigi Toccafondo's artworks, than a must deviation to the Caffe' Concerto for a drink and quick greetings, a glass of good wine in good company cannot be missed to
conclude the day and toast to the incoming longly-waited week end.
But at 16.35pm I was still rummaging through my closet looking for a right outfit for my evening, I'm not vain but I prefer to feel confortable carefully selecting the outfit for each moment, I like the confort but with elegance. "It's late!" Growled the white rabbit in between two carrots, I quickly weared dark jeans, t-shirt blu and tied sneakers.. I obviously dressed as per my first choice. I felt like a lightning but I stopped bragging about my surprising speed opening the drawer of my precious clocks, collected since I was child. Which one to wear? It's not easy to choose among the exclusives Jowissa models, the brand founded on 1951 in the swiss city of Bettlach. The sofisticate design, the valuable materials and the unique colours are the guarrantee of the Made in Swiss quality and of my personality too! I selected the
model Tiro Steel black, the accessory suitable for all occasions with dazzling reflections, multifaceted glass and catchy design.
I passed through the perfum cloud and, in spite of the delay on my schedule, I felt peaceful and elegant. That night I got back home at 3.00am , I got lost in the beautiful alleys of the city center enlightened by the night lights, in the shadow of the cathedral arches, in the legend of the Bonissima. When I got back home the white rabbit was waiting for me on the couch... "Sooner or later I will evict you. It's only about time!" I told him.
What can be done in a day in Milan? Taking a decision on what to do is difficult but for certain I cannot leave the city without passing by Tasta, handcrafted icecream and bakery shop, sicilian delicacy boutique!
I’m passing through the metropoli and I decide to stop at Milano Porta Garibaldi station, this time I want to walk away from the city centre’s touristic itineraries, from the wearying queues at the ticket counters and from the crowd of the subway. I start my walk to discover one of the most contemporary zone of the city. In the last years radical architectural changes happened on this historic block, among liberty style buildings and well-finished private gardens appear new impressive reflecting skyscrapes and the pensile gardens of the Vertical Wood; architectural giants define a suggestive skyline that can be observed at its best from the raised Gae Aulenti square.
Keeping on walk I start to by hungry only thinking to the taste of the Bronte DOP green pistachio icecream! I pass through the suggestive fountains of the square, the sculpture of Alberto Garutti and I reach Corso Como, where exclusive shop windows attract pedetrians and shopping lovers that, like me, do not resist to tentation to step into a changing room and get out from the shop glowing and full of shoppers. At this stage I would need a good biological coffee with a fragrant almond pastry but I need to cross Porta Garibaldi first, one of the main gates of the first medieval city wall.
I’m nearly arrived, this time I cross Corso Garibaldi unresponsive to the call of the compulsive shopping, just a quick look! At last I reach the street number 111 and I step in, I actually run inside, the amazing world of scents and flavours Tasta, in sicilian language this world means “Taste it” but my actual intention is to scoff down everything! The chance to taste sicilian excellency products in Milan must not be lost by the gourmet experts, by who wants to pamper himself and relax and by who never visited Sicily or just Modica, city where the Flamingo family started to preserve the big passion for the handcrafted icecreams and bakery, since 1960. Tasta chooses the excellency way respecting the raw material quality and offering products that are satisfying all tastes. Products 100% bio with a wide range of gluten free, vegan, sucrose-less and classical flavours, everybody can enjoy ! Tasting slushes, Modica chocolate, Piemonte IGP hazelnut icecream and the soft pastries “col tuppo” are musts. My day in Milan ends plenty of sweetness but I cannot leave without the “cannoli kit”, a great solution for a gift or for a travel provision! An handy and original idea to made up original sicilian cannoli purchasing a ready-to-use fresh products kit, also sold online. Next destination? May be Bologna or Hollywood, Tasta boutiques are also there!
